The most accurate of the cheap rifles on the market.

What a great rifle for the money, I paid $575 AU for my Axis XP Camo .243w and boy does it shoot.
when I bore sighted it in at 25mts all 3 shots in same hole :) at 50mts 3 shots into one hole other 2 in same hole :)
Around MOA with factory Rem and highland ammo, and with my best handloads 58gr Vmax I got .338" moa and never worst than .670" and with 90gr Lapua .got a 498" moa.
Changed the scope to a 6-24x50 Tasco WC, added Caldwell bipod, tricked the trigger down to 3lb;s pull.
Have shot Goats, Foxes , Roo's and Rabbits out to 300mts with it....great rifle
Out shoots all my mates rifles ruger .223 and Abolt .223WSM and howa 308 with ease :)

Cant wait to get my next Savage a model 16FCSS 6.5 Creedmoor later this year.

I like those camo axis stocks. I've only seen one at the range & I couldn't stop eyeballing it.
I really need to convince my ol' lady that I need just one more rifle... just one..... I swear!.... this will be the last time.
    Enjoy your new Axis.

Whenever she sees me on the computer looking at guns & reload stuff she asks if I'm pushing for a 5th divorce....

Woman's got no sense of value.
    Or humor any longer.

By the way TeeKay (original poster) - can you put up a photo of your now toy?
I'd like to see it, if you can.

I just eyeballed your pics. That's just like the camo stock I saw a few weeks ago at the range. That's a real eye catcher.

I 'spose it's a safe assumption that if Savage is making the El Cheapo Axis in camo dip, they must be selling. I don't recall ANYONE that was a first time Axis buyer / owner that didn't rave about it.
Except for one or two that got barrels that were copper grabbers. You know what kind of barrel that is. Look down it & you thing you're looking into a corrugated sewer pipe. The kind where you load a .308 round, pull the trigger & a .243 round comes out.
Good luck with that good lookin' toy.
Since I'm among the ranks of the unemployed, I think I'll go shoot tomorrow. I need to load up.
    Later, y'all...
