hi all
new here but wanted to pass this along

take this with a grain of salt

so i bought a new axis in .308
took it to the range and had problems with cartridge feeding
when i got home i found that savage really needs to address these magazines
so the back tang had broke off on the plastic bottom of my magazine
not sure if i'm alone with this issue

so knowing i don't want to experience this in the field i did a quick lil repair which should solve this as an issue
pretty much straight forward

hack sawed relief slots on mag base on each side by the hole
then using bailing wire
i wired these bases on through the hole
i lose a round but surely won't have feed problems

images below
1...side by side image to show where plastic tang broke off

2...hack saw each side by hole

3...wire the base on

4...snipped excess wire and pushed stub into that hole

5...happy lil family of mags now

NOTE...CHECK MAG TO BE SURE INSERTS AND RELEASES OK
you can also paint that wire if desired

sad shame as i am not happy with these mag's at all and bought 3 to mount on my stock
upon researching
i found an aftermarket producer making high capacity magazines
