    Barrel/Stock ?

I am looking at buying a 110 in 270 then putting a new ER Shaw barrel on it using the factory wood stock. My question is, can I order a varmint barrel and then open the stock or do I have to order a standard barrel? I was thinking 6mmBR. If I go with the 6mmBR, I would like a heavy barrel or can I get by with a standard?

You can get by with a thin sporter but just dont shoot it rapid fire.I would go with the varmint barrrel as they tend to not heat up as fast, but they do get hotin hot weather fairly quick.Try a mcgowen, northlander has some left overs and the new site from mcgowen has some ready to order within one week you will get the new tube.
Willing to give back for what the sport has done for me!

Yes, you can get by with opening the barrel channel for the varmint barrel. Make sure you keep a good clearance between the stock and barrel. Do the dollar trick. That is fold a dollar in half long ways and slide down the barrel channel. It should not snag on anything until it gets to the barrel nut.
