The right ammo for the right package

    Hello all..

New proud owner of the 116 Trophy XP .30-06 with Nikon BDC 3-9x40 scope.

I have been brushing up on my knowledge of ammo and am looking for some insight.

With the Nikon BDC scope it seems like they recommend either sighting in at 100yds with standard ammo, or sighting in at 200 yards with magnum ammo.

Then in the manual that came with the rifle, it mentions using a 168 grain with the .30-06.

I would like to sight in at 200yds to start shooting a little farther and was wondering what would be a good ammo to use.

I just bought 3 boxes of Rem Express Core Lokt 165 grain.

And feel that if I want to try to extend the range of my shots, with the use of my scope, I should bump it up to either a 180 or some magnum type of round.

    thanks all.

Use any ammo that suits your needs. For target and deer 150 is fine.elk go 165 or better. don`t worry about what ammo for the BDC, just sight it in for what ever your using.
