I too recently bought a 6.5 284 and haven't quite yet gotten around to developing good loads cause I'm just finishing up working up loads for my 308. I have most of the stuff you mentioned as well as Ramshot and some Sierra and barnes bullets. I also bought some swift sirocco 2's since I had great results with them in my 308. The nice thing about the 6.5 284 is that it's not very popular and reload components seem to be readily available. I hope to get around to my 6.5 284 loads in a week or two--but please let us know how you are doing. : )

I have had great luck with the 140 A-max and H-4350 and Hybrid V-100, the only problem is finding the components right now.

What do you plan on doing with your rifle? Target only, hunting, long range steel?

Mine really Loves H4831. 48 grains in Norma brass is giving me 2820fps and shoots a five shot group like this.

H4350 gives me the best velocity up over 2900 but opens up the groups to about an inch.

    My 6.5x284 CBI 26" 1:8 twist with Berger 140 VLD's likes H4350 and RL17 over H4831sc.

Hi RL19 and Hybrid are your friend in that caliber, I personally don't shoot that caliber but load it for a buddy, and the loads he likes for either powder is 50gr, He told me that load is good for 3000 FPS it must be a good load, because he never asked me to tweak it or change it in any way shape or form.

    I have a savage 12 F class in 6.5 284 with a 30 in bbl. It likes Hybrid 100V 51gr at 3120 fps and reloader 17 51gr at 3180 fps with berger 140 VLD hunting or Sierra 140 SMK

That load was with several variations of 140s, and 142 sierra BTHP and the 120s I bumped the powder up 2 gr,

I am getting 2915fps with a 140 A-Max and 47.4 of hybrid, its a 1/4moa load. On a side note I have a 30 inch barrel on my rifle. I have found my rifle likes a little slower load once I start heating it up the groups open up something terrible.

123 gr serria works best for me over rl22. 140 a max also running a 27 inch benchmark.

The gun is going to be used for long range steel and whitetail hunting
