Blind Magazine vs. Hinged Floor Plate - Any advantage?

Current 116 300WM (hunting rifle only) has blind magazine.
I am upgrading stock and wondering if there is any advantage to going with a hinged floor plate.

    Pro:
Moderately easier to unload (although my Rem 700 is hinged and I never use it for that)
Easier to correct jam in field

    Con:
    Additional conversion cost
    Heavier, with less stock integrity

Am I missing anything that would make me swing toward hinged floorplate?

I have a hinged floorplate rifle and have had others and never used it to unload a rifle. You could inadvertantly leave a round in the chamber by using the floor plate but racking the bolt to unload means the first round out will be the one in the chamber.

I like my blind mag because it is simple and has less things to go wrong.

I prefer a floorplate. It gives me the ability to quickly unload the magazine.

I have both. All but two of my Savages are blind mags and all the 700s and 70s are hinged. I also have three '98s configured to blind mags. I don't don't have a preference of one over the other loading or unloading.

As far as stock "integrity" is concerned there's gonna be a big hole in it either way.

Personnally I like the blind mag, it can't pop open while walking to or in the stand, and I always know when the gun is empty when working the bolt. Like the blind mag so much I have10 or 11 of them.

You've covered the pro and cons pretty good. I have both and like both. I do use the hinged floorplate models to unload them but It's not a deal killer to have to unload by cycling the bolt. It's all a matter of personal preference.

    Thanks guys.
Trying to figure out what I want in this new build, and the best way to go about it.
