    Savage 16 bedding question

I'm attemting my first bedding job on my .300 WSM Savage model 16. I have the whole action stripped down except for removing the magazine out of the action. I've been prying on the front and rear, but don't want to break it. Any tips? I afraid if I try to bed it and leave it in, it will get stuck.

You can apply these forces in several ways but the best place to start is on the rear clip. Take a thin screwdriver and slide it under the rear clip rocking it up and down and rolling it back and forth carefully until it lifts up and 1/8" or more. now using your finger on the front of the magazine stick it in compressing the follower, now pushing it forward lift upwards. It should snap out no problem you may need to use that screwdriver on the front in leu of your finger. Deburr any proud material that you hace dispaced when prying.
