Hornady 150 sst "300 savage"

Hello,
Anyone know what is "special" if anything on Hornady .308 - 150 grn SST 300 Savage 100 count bullets ?
I seen this while looking for some standard Hornady .308 - 150 grn interlocks or SST's to reload in my rifles, several of which are 99's.

I use them for target and get good groups out of them from my Savage 99 in .300sav. I haven't been able to take it out to hunt yet.

Any idea why they specifically call them out to be "300 savage" ?
The "300 Savage" is even printed on the boxes of bullets ?

Okay, for shooting it for the first time after zeroing it I shot about a 1.25MOA.
As far is why they call it 300 Savage I have no idea but definitely the 300 part is more than likely due to the fact 30 calibe 30 caliber bullet.

Here is the reply from Hornady.
Steve, thank you for the inquiry. The 150 SST for the 300 Savage was designed to expand at lower velocities than the standard 150 SST. I would not recommend using the 300 Savage bullet in the 308 Win or 30-06. They are not designed to be run at those type of velocities. I would stick with the standard SST bullet for the 308 Win on up. Thank you

Thats really good info, especially since most of my deer rifles are in 300 Sav.

Bet they'd work awesome in my old model 1920 in 300.

As fast as the SSTs expand, I am amazed that Hornady felt the need for a thinner bullet. I use the regular 150 SSTs in a Contender carbine in .30-30 AI because they are too thin for my .308 Win.
