Need scope for savage axis 308 sr

I have the new (at least to me) Savage 308 SR with the need to make a scout rifle at lower cost. So with that in mind, need a recommendation or 2 on an EER scope about 6X or an EER variable in the $200 to $250 range. Max range in the 500 to 600 yd range. Don't need one minute performance but think minute of zombie would be good.

I use 168 SMK at about 2500fps and 150 Hornady FMJBT at about 2650 fps.

Also have not found an off the shelf mount yet.

Opinions please.

Well I found and bought a Weaver (chinese) 3-9x40 scope that has much more than the semi standard 3.5" eye relief. $130.

Clear, bright, sorta compact. If it holds up on my 6.5# 308 SR, I just might be happy. If the weather ever improves, I will make a range report.

Objective is a low cost Scout rifle.
