    Spring tension on firing pin

I am swapping the bolt heads on my 110 from the 0.473 to 0.3?? for a 223. I have the longer pin stop/Adjustment nut I got from Fred. I didn't record how far the cocking piece was screwed on the firing pin to set the spring load before I disassembled the firing pin assembly.

Do I screw the cocking piece all the way down on the firing pin? Need a little guidance here.

After setting the firing pin protrusion adjust the cocking piece so the cocking piece pin has about .010" or so clearance at the bottom of the cocking ramp in the fired position pushed fully forward with the protrusion nut bottomed on the bolt head shaft. The clearance will vary a bit depending on what the cocking piece sleeve-lock washer will allow for installing the sleeve and cocking piece pin. . Your setting the length of the pin assembly to the bolt body you have.

Uhhhh... Got a picture of that. I will have to read that again while I am looking at the bolt. Thanks, Tim

Set the spring compression at 2.600", that will be ball park.
