its not the action. it needs to be a center feed new style. iv looked it up and it clearly states only older style non center feed action.

What about a stockade stock? You can get a rough finished stock for 200, thumb hole or regular. The tactical ones are 260 unfinished. I figure it wouldn't cost more than 25 bucks to fill pin holes, sand and paint one. Only downside is wait time which is around 16 weeks but a very very good stock for the money. Just search stockade stocks and you'll find 95% good reviews.

Here is an idea. Use the telephone and call Boyd's or Stocky's and ask to be sure.

Looky in the upper left corner of the page at the Stocky's link above. See where it says "Stocky's Stock Finder?"

Select "Savage" in the first menu
Select "110 through 116 centerfeed" in the second menu
Select your barrel contour in the third menu
Select your magazine type in the fourth menu

Boyds new websit is a little aggravating IMO but you're not going to bead them on price.... you can get most anything you want finished for right at $100. Usually only very minor fitting required.

Dude, almost ANYTHING is an improvement over the factory stevens stock, especially a boyds stock after you bed it.

About 10 minutes with a dremel will make any stagger feed stock work with a center feed. All you need to do is inlet the rear action screw for the magazine retention tab.
