I guess I never got around to putting this one up here. It's a left handed carbine built with mostly parts from the classifieds here. It started as a 111GL in .243. It's now a 16"long cut down sporter barreled 308 with threads and a brake, a detachable box and a shortened up stock converted for lefty.Of course it has a tuned 3 screw trigger with a lighter spring and with a bolt lift kit. The overall length from the tip of the brake to the end of the butt pad is 37" and though I'm not sure what it weighs it's light and handy, The camo is Kahki and olive drab rustoleum camo from a rattlecan with the effects done with a sea sponge and finished with Testors dull coat. The perfect little grab n go gun for things that need shooting.

.22LR Remington MSR using a Savage MKII F

    Licensed by Remington MSR
    CNC full metal chassis
Foldable stock, adjustable LOP and cheek riser

Paid $400 used for the airsoft stock and then gutted it using an angle grinder and power drill.

    95% done

The trigger doesn't go down all the way so I have to figure out how to fabricate an "extended trigger shoe."

When I figure this part out, then it's range time to shoot some vids.

    Using a cheap $60 3x9-50mm scope
    UTG M1A bipod
    Replaced the bolt knob

Just finished this. It's been partially finished for a while but got put on the back burner. It started out as a 116 Big Game Hunter model. I had the action blue printed, and re-threaded to the large barrel shank size. The barrel is a McGowen 28" large shank in 338 win mag. It has a Rifle Basix trigger, Hogue full length bedded stock, Warne base, Burris Signature Zee Rings, and a Swift Premier Sur-Lok 6-18x44.

Hey All, Here is my first "totally by me" build. Savage 110 7MM Rem Mag, Choate Stock, Large Bolt Handle, Shilen Match grade bull barrel 26", 20 MOA scope Bases, Vortex HS Scope.

I had originally worked over the factory trigger, and when I went out for barrel break-in, I realized that I had just made a horrible trigger bad, so I ordered and installed a Rifle Basix Sav-1 trigger. I also realized that the stock was in need of bedding, so back to the bench it went. Initial load development showed a couple of loads that showed promise, so I loaded up a few more and a few max loads to try as well, and back out to re-check groups. Here is the winning group. These were just confirming earlier groups, so it was only a 3 shot.

I ran the last two through the chrono to get a speed which was 2910fps. I was hoping to get just over 3000fps, but with that group, I think I can sacrifice a few fps. I was shooting prone off of bags. I originally paid $130 for the rifle WITH 4 boxes of ammo.

I'm not sure what the definition of "Custom" is but looking through the pics in this thread may fit in and it makes more sense than starting a new thread IMO.

This is my special order 112 FCV I recently took possession of in 30-06.

The action and barrel came in a surprisingly dull finish which I really like. I think the action might have been from the law enforcement series as the varmint series looks a good bit shinier on their site but who knows. And Savage didn't have any 26" bull barrels in 30-06 laying around but they did have some 24" barrels. They would have made a 26" had I wanted to but at $200 extra I selected a fluted 24" which I am very happy with.

    Bog standard accustock, accutrigger, DBM.

I found some TPS 1" rings on EBay for half their normal cost, and got a Talley rail to go with it.

The Scope is a Zeiss Conquest 4.5-14x50 I got for a steal off of a site that offers large discounts to "industry insiders" in my case, active duty military.

I have 60 rounds of Hornady factory 165 grain rounds and I hope to see how she shoots on Wednesday. Can't wait! I haven't been shooting in awhile and this is my first Savage and first bolt gun.

Slimysquirrel sorry it took so long to anwser. Havn't been on the internet as of lately. I believe those are medium rings. But Im not certain its been a while since I built that rifle. If you need to find the correct rings do this.

Install your base. Then take a handfull of penies, quarters, washers etc. Put an even amount of them under your scope tube on each side of your turrets. When your amount of Penies, etc is high enough that the scope bell has enough clearance to clear the barrel then measure the thickness of your stack of penies with a micrometer and go to midwayusa.com and look at the rings.

There measurements are from where the ring/base connect to the top of the ring where the scope tube rests on.

    Hope this helps

    Hey, thanks a heap!

I purchased the Mediums as a mate has the lows on his rig and they are holding down a 6-24X50 he did a measurement for me and we should be ok!

Really looking forward to peering through the Sightron .. Reckon 32X should help me see a touch better...
