I just recently purchased a Savage model 111. I'm having trouble finding an aftermarket stock, specifically a laminate with a thumb hole, but I am open to other styles. I can find some, but not for a detachable mag, only a blind mag. If they are for a detachable mag the are a short action rifle. I didn't know if anyone else was having this problem. Just looking for some ideas.

You can convert your rifle to a blind mag easily, others on this site have done it and posted explanations. If you want to keep your DBM you have a few options. Step up in price to a McMillan or the like which is DBM ready (all synthetic). Inlet the bottom of a blind mag stock for your DBM yourself with a router, or send one to someone like Kevin Rayhill at stockade gunstocks to have it done. I don't know of a non custom laminated stock for DBM. Anyone care to add?
