What needs to be done to a McMillan Stock

Sorry probably a newbee question but I am looking at ordering a A5 for a build.

What needs to be done to a McMillan stock after you receive it? Or is it drop in ready just bolt the action and barrel in and go?

You can use it as it comes but they are not pillar bedded, I just bedded the lug and shot it.

price and wait time is why I DIDN'T go with a McMillan! I ordered a LVT from SSS. Can't wait to get it!

In Canada, a McMillan is one of the few lefty options we got. You can also order pillars to be bedded for an extra $25.

My deposit was put down last month. I was told lead-time from deposit to receiving it ran three to six months. The large gap is due to possible customs delays, I believe.

You might have gotten the McMillian first. I have been told they are way behind like most other makers.

unless you want custom features, try jim at northland. the 10fcp actually comes in an A5 stock from savage so Jim may have one for sale. unfortunately, no one has an A4 for me in stock, lol
