    Axis with an Accutrigger

Just finnished installing an Accutrigger on my 223 Axis, went pretty smooth after I remembered I saw on here you have do do a little grinding to make it fit. Thanks for all the info I sure have learned a lot just by looking here. Also had some saftey issuses but resolved them. Can't wait to get to the range.
    Again Thanks

Went to the range yesterday was in a hurry got 2 shots almost touching 3rd well. What a difference it made.

Just wondering; what were your safety issues?

    Accutrigger saftey issue

I had to put a longer screw in that goes up against the saftey from the trigger I don't know the official name for it. It was fire all the time or not at all. Put the Axis screw in and it seems to work, going to put some thread lock on it tomorrow.

Hmmm...curious. Did you grind down the top of the trigger where the safety adjustment screw comes out?

My recollection is that when I installed my accutrigger, I was able to use the original safety adjustment screw. I only ground down the very back where the trigger adjustment spring was mounted (that was in addition to grinding off the sides).

The trigger I got didn't have the saftey adjustment screw with it I ended taking the one out oth the original trigger(with the help of a bic lighter) can't complain got the trigger for $20.00. The first one I used came out a old savage 110 non adjustable one it was to short to work.

    Axis with an Accutrigger

Either way you would do it yourself. The questions is why choose the accu trigger over a timney trigger.

That's what it's all about most bang for the buck. I like to go cheap with an experiment, also saves money for something else.

I installed an accutrigger in my axis as well.
    For me the reasons:
#1 for safety. Its the only trigger I trust under 2lbs because of the "blade safety".
#2 Its cheaper than other replacement triggers(but hard to find).

The Accutrigger will fit the Axis rifle after it is modified. There is an technical article on how to accomplish this procedure, but you must be a paid member to access that section of the forum.

Just bought an accutrigger off of Fleabay and lucky for me someone had already taken the time to sand off the high spots on the side for me before I got it! If it was anyone on this forum I thank you it works great! Just stuck it in and everything works as it should. Not sure how low it's set right now because I don't have a scale, but it feels great and I would guess half pull required by the stocker. I'll lighten it up after my kid uses it for deer season.

Paid $40 and I thought I was being taken at that, but now that I have it in and have pulled the trigger! Best purchase EVER!

There is more to it than just the poundage of the pull too. It's hard to explain but the factory trigger was notchy or gritty and this thing just breaks with very little movement at all.

Anyway thank all of you guys for bringing this mod to my attention.

    Ray
