Saved a house cat and got a bobcat

We had been calling all day for coyotes but it was just way to windy. We decided to go to a farm my buddy has permission to hunt and see if there was any quail. As we are driving in I spot a bobcat sitting up down a row of trees. My buddy backs the car up and I scramble to get the gun out and loaded. The cat starts to move row to row and all the while my buddies telling me to hurry up cause its going to go. It stops at the first row of trees and gets into a stalking position. I took the shot and it entered right above its front leg. The cat ran a few yards and we lost sight of it, I found it laying next to a tree expired. When I shot my buddy saw a house cat run back to the house, thats what it was stalking. The farmer lady was really thankful I saved her cat.

I was shooting a 15.5g Winchester lead free round since I was in the condor zone in CA

same cat just better scenery lol

    Thanks for looking

    Nice Cat comcam.
You standing by that fence with the cat reminds me of some years ago, we were flying predator control for Coyotes. Real hard winder and things were tough. We would find small bunches of antelope grouped up with coyotes surrounding them and feasting as needed. We came over a hill and ran into one of these bunches with about 9 coyotes and one bobcat having their will. When heard us coming they scattered in every direction. We took about half an hour taking care of the coyotes, then wondered where the cat went. we found him a short distance away, standing on top of a steel post on one of those fences. I would have given anything for a camera. Dangdest thing you ever seen.

Makes me wonder how many times I may have spooked a bobcat away when I shoot the house cat first.
