    Recoil pad for stevens 200

Bought a used Stevens 200 in 300 win mag and would like to upgrade the recoil pad, the factory one is hard as a rock. Anyone know part #s for pre-fit pads that will work? For the Limbsaver I was told the part # is 10111 but that states its for remington 700 wood.

    Thanks!

Limbsaver doesn't make a precision fit for the Savage/Steven's synthetic stock. If you decide to go with a grind-to-fit model, do yourself a favor and throw it in the freezer before you install and try to shape it. Being frozen will make it a WHOLE lot easier to grind down without having it tear/shred on you. Same goes for the Pachmyer Decelerator Pad which is very similar.

The LimbSaver Slip-on pad is designed to be used without your original stock pad in place - at least that's what Steve Sims told me back in 06 or 06 when he sent us a couple to play with and review. Of course, that was after I had finished my review and posted it with the original pad still in place the whole time. Live and learn!
