    model 887 broken ejector spring

My son just got an older Savage 887 with, apparently, a broken ejector spring. I have not seen it yet, but does anyone know if this is a hard job to do? I know my way around my 1911's OK, but have not messed with any rifles yet. The parts seem to be available at Brownells for just a few bucks, but inexpensive parts does not mean simple fix.
    Any help out there? ???

Should be fairly simple. Savage never did make their rifles complicated.
