    My first Savage build

    It's alive!!!

Savage BVSS action, Criterion 28" 6.5x55 bull barrel, dressed in a BVSS stock. Now to order my Weaver 20 MOA scope base, Burris rings, and Sighton SIII 10-50x60 scope.

Nice looking rig, and I like your choice of cartridge. My question is, why a 20MOA base with that cartridge?

I have a dumb question. This is my first savage. You can pull the trigger without pulling the safety trigger and it sounds like the firing pin releasing, but it sounds differently than if you pull both the trigger and the safety trigger. Is this normal?

Try it at the range before you believe me but it sounds like the safety part of the accutrigger is working. When you pull the trigger the part in the middle when compressed allows the trigger to function normaly. If you don't compress that portion of the trigger then it acts like a safety keeping the firing pin from striking the primer.

    Very nice gun BTW.

Ok, just kinda different from my pistols with a similar feature. If I pull just the trigger I get a click but if I pull both I get a different sounding click. Both sound like the firing pin is moving but if you pull both it sounds like the pin is...I don't know, hitting harder, traveling further. It's hard to describe. I figured I wouldn't be able to pull the trigger at all unless the safety trigger is pulled too. I have to pull the bolt back for it to reset to fire after pulling just the trigger. Just a different setup I'm not used to so I wanted to make sure that was normal.
