    Question Model 6D help pls.

I have an old one & I haven't the foggiest idea how to open the action. I try to pull back the bolt but it won't budge? Anyone familiar w/ this old .22 that might be able to shed some light? Appreciate it.

Try pulling outwards on the knob first, I know there was a way of switching these models up from semi auto to bolt action so you could fire short and long shells as well. I think that might be whats holding the bolt closed.

Yep, almost sure thats whats wrong.

I just went and checked with my model 7 (same as your 6 only mag fed) and if the cocking knob is pushed in you can't open the breach.

BINGO Mad Dog. You are the man. I just got around to checking it & you were absolutely right. I was thinking about getting rid of this old rifle which was recently given to me. It has some rust but the stock is pretty nice. No ser. # so it's probably 40 yrs. old. I think I read where after '68 they required ser. #'s. I think I'll just hang onto it. Kinda nice little old .22. Thank you sir for your help.
