Savage 12 F/TR part number request bolt handle

According to the May 2012 Rifle Firepower magazine the Savage 12 F/TR "All models in both series (12 F/TR) also have LONGER BOLT HANDLES and LARGER GRASPING KNOBS than sporter models for easier, faster manipulation"

I assume the model 12 bolt handle will fit on my model 16.

So the questions are how much longer is the model 12, and can we get it at a price less than the 'tactical bolt handles" of aftermarket supliers?

Can someone with a model 12 check on Savage.com for the part number of the bolt handle in stainless?

    Thank you

I am not positive about the complete rifle but my target action came with a ss bolt handle that you can get at several venders such as northland shooter supply,
    sharpshooter supply

I have installed that same bolt handle on every model savage from a $200.00 Stevens on up, just call savage and order one they have them in stock, they will ask for your serial number, just tell them you have the part number you want, the part number is 106197.

Yeh I noticed that. Still works for me as I won't be getting my new 6.8 barrel until late January or February

I hate Midway, they have too many things I need (want) so I spend too much money there. Way too much spent there.

Just got their Wheeler barrel nut wrench. Not only did they include the wrench for the nut with slots, they also included the other wrench for the smooth barrel nut, both for $25.49!!! Since they also have smooth barrel nuts, going to put one on my model 16.

    Two seperate wrenches.

The smooth wrench is VERY heavy, includes a brass strip. You tighten the bolt to encase the wrench arround the smooth nut and brass strip to protect the nut. Will try to get photos later.
