    McGowen Revisited

In spite of the stories about long waits, I decided to go ahead and order a barrel from McGowen.
Two weeks after I mailed my check the barrel arrived. 26" ss varmint contour in 300 H&H.
    a thing of beauty
Now if everything else shows up, I'l be putting it together soon.

If it is not a popular bore/twist, then yes, the waits can be long with any of the match barrel makers. I tend to check the lists of barrels that they have in inventory from overruns or canceled orders and every so often you get lucky.
