Older 110 30-06.

Hello all need some advice,

I just aquired a "new to me" 110 in 30-06 and will be doing a lot of re-building on it. new stock, barrel, reciol lug, bolt handle etc. I want to chamber it in 6.5x284, my first question is small shank or large shank barrel? And any suggestions on barrel brands. I will be deer and hog hunting mostly and some "friendly long range shooting" I am new to the Savage Rifles but I am quickly growing close to them. Any suggestions on triggers. I want to completly replace the old one with a new one. any suggestions/ recommendations will be a huge help. Thanks!!!

Small shank ,brownell has a 3 screw chrome or carbide , nitride coated trig for $18 , factory tact. Handle at brownells again $18 , its like a small block chevy is ti hotrodding , many ,many add ons. Good luck
