    savage model 11 .308 left hand QUESTION/HELP

i have a model 11 308 lh with accutrigger and no accustock with inverted magazine. i had a problem with my stock loosening up on me, but i tightened it back up. but my main concern was about the rear trigger guard screw, when i try to tighten it up, it keeps turning but not tightening. Is it suposed to not tighten or what?

It sounds as if the threads are stripped. The rear trigger guard only screws into plastic. My suggestion would be to take some epoxy and fill the screwhole, and then drill out a pilot hole and screw in the rear screw. You don't need to torque down the rear trigger guard screw more than necessary to hold in the trigger guard and to not fall out. It should not be torqued to 30 inch pounds, etc... Hand tight will suffice.

Put the tip of a drywall anchor in the hole and reuse the screw, good to go.
