Another Newbee saying hi!!

Just wanting to hi from "down under".
First time Savage owner, just picked up a 93FSS in .22WMR ($650NZD = $525 USD) and i'm hoping for good things.
Looking at a Bushnell Banner dawn & dusk 6x24 scope to top off the rifle (slight overkill maybe but I want parallex adjustment for pest shooting and a decent zoom for targets). Anyone seen one of these in the flesh??
Also, I realise that every rifle is different but can anyone suggest a round that they have found that has worked well (accuracy wise) in their 93FSS that I could try as a starting round?

A buddy of mine shoots some sort of CCI in his .22mag Marlin. Wish I could be more helpful.

Thanks, any info helps. I have picked up some Hornady V-Max, CCI Maxi-mag JHP and some Fiocchi to try out to start with.
