Easy big guy. What brands and loads did you try? We need a little more info. Also did you double check your scope and mounts? Is your barrel freefloated?

I have tried the following factory loads, Fed. Premium in 120 & 140 remington premier tip 120's , remington Core lock 120, nothing consistent...
I am bench shooting 100 yards, Scope recently came off my AR which shoots 3/4" all day.
Rings are leoupold and are tight as is the stock/action screws. Rifle is new...
I am hand loading Berger VLD 130 target and 140 Hunting VLD along with Lapua 123 HPBT and Hornady A-Max 123 Any info on loads would be helpful...
    Thanks

38 grains of varget with 120 Amax shoots little tiny groups in mine. Its a little on the slow side but it shoots fantastic right there. I think I was getting excessive barrel whip with higher end loads throwing my groups out. Slow it down a bit and see what happens. Also make sure your tang is floated as well as the barrel.

Sort of obvious statement, but if they all shoot 2" high, then you just need to adjust your scope.

Now to be fair, they are all shooting 2" high compared to what?

Fubar i thik he means 2+ inch groups. I got to go with Stomp on this one. Slow it down a little. I prefer RL-15 over Varget but know folks that have had excellent results with Varget. Start low and work up. The best load is seldom the fastest.

Similar results with mine and 120AMAX and 140 Berger VLD. It tightened up at about 43.5 grain. Going up to 46gr didn't really increase velocity much so just saved the powder.

Mike what did you change? I have recently purchased my 1st reloading kit from Lee and as of yet have no experience trying for pet loads. i'm curious what you think was going on to cause your large groups.

Just use H4350 for 120s -140s. 45gr with 120gr standard cup and core type bullets will get you atleast 2900fps and .5"groups. My experience with 5 different 260s. 120 Amax is doing a little faster than 2900fps.

43.5gr does well with 140gr Amax.

    Mach2,
The only thing I changed was I quit using factory loads, I loaded Berger VLD 140 with RL-15, COAL of .280, this load is now shooting sub moa. Also loaded Hornady Amax 123 and Lapua 123 they all shoot sub moa, I use a cheap ($250) but very nice Mueller 6x32x44 target scope and installed a BASIX trigger that I got from Jim Briggs NSS. Love my Savage Model 10 .260

    Mike,

Yes, this is the 1000y range. We do new member sign ups every other Sunday.

The 1000y stuff is only available for use during matches due to safety issues. You can't see that end of the range from the pistol line and comms are sometimes iffy out there. We do have a 600y range that you can use when get qualified on the long range side. We do however have steel targets going out to 600y that anyone can shoot.

The pistol side (short side) is 200y and you have to bring your own targets.

Memberships are yearly and run from Apr 1st to Apr 1st.

Check out the website & forum at www.pascagouladcm.com

BTW, there will be a 600y benchrest match on Nov 18th. I'll be working so I'll have to miss it. You are welcome to come out though. All the matches are open to the public.
