I finally took a trophy elk this year after years of decent success, but with no real wallhanger to show for it. My hunting buddy and I had been hunting southern Wyoming for years on a DIY basis, and while we had been successful, we decided to pay up for a guided hunt before we both got too old to climb hills. This one came from SE Idaho and gross cored 372" green. This one is definately going on the wall.... which wall is still in conflict with House Management, but some wall....

I didn't shoot this one with my trusty Savage 300WSM - had it with me, but just happened to grab the M70 7mm WSM that morning instead. IT was a LONG drive out there, but worth it. I'm on the right, buddy on the left. He shot a really nice 8x9 with palmation on the tops the previous morning and was able to tag along on my hunt.
