    Latest Savage build

Thought I would share my latest build now that I have all the kinks worked out and have shot a match with it.

    -Standard 10 action with accutrigger
-Criterion 6.5 creedmoor varmint contour 26"
    -EGW 20moa HD base
-Manners T2 stock pillar and glass bedded
    -accurate mag DBM
    -Vortex Razor 5-20

Barrel was spray painted with some high heat brake caliber paint. Oddly enough it matched the action's factory finish exactly. Didn't take long to find a load, 42.1gr of H4350 and a 140 amax seem to be the ticket. Exactly 2800fps out of this barrel. Will probably be cutting and threading at 22" once the suppressor gets here though.

Looks like a long range tackdriver.

How do you like the barrel weight?

That's a real looker you got there. Very nicly done.
Let me know how that heat paint holds up for you. Especially when you clean the barrel. I have a stainless barrel I want to paint black.

Good luck with the new rig. Hope it shoots as good as it looks.

Barrel weight is a little lighter then I wanted for this build but to my knowledge criterions next contour is the full 1" bull? I wish they had a m24, Med/heavy palma as well, that would have been the ideal size.

The only thing I would add is Kevin Rayhills tac handle, get the one that is 3/4 of an inch.
Willing to give back for what the sport has done for me!

Ya I was looking at that. Is his bolt lift kit worth it too?

On most rifles it is hard to tell a difference with the lift kit, but for some that have a hard lift already it can be noticed. For around $7 its worth trying if your already ordering something from him. I have one in each of my Savages.

This one was on their ready to ship page so 1 week : ). The last one I had to order took 18 weeks and that was about a year ago. Totally worth the wait.

We have near Identical setups...except mines a 260.

I just added a rayhill bolt handle and highly recommend it. They are very nice.

    Very nice rifle.
