Thoughts on Savage 11/111 trophy hunter in 243

Thinking about getting the 11/111 in 243 for predator/ deer hunting. Price now is $500.00 with Nikon bdc scope. I already have a Axis in 223 that shoots great. Thoughts/ other options?

the 243 is a good caliber for what you want to shoot and the model 11 is an excellent gun. I would get the 6.5 creedmoor in same set-up, I really like the cartridge and it is accurate with factory loads or reloads. you might want to do a little research and check around for more info, I think you would like it.

I have a Model 11 Trophy Hunter in 7-08 and it's a great shooter....243 is a great caliber, very accurate, easy to load for or find ammo for, plenty of medicine for deer and other small and medium game and light on the recoil. Great choice i say.
