New Savage 111 cartridge feeding issue

Hi everyone, I am hoping that someone here might be able to guide me to a solution with a problem I'm having with my new Savage 111. My girlfriend surprised me with this rifle for Christmas and I couldn't be happier. The only issue I am having with it is that 2nd position round never feeds. It springs up from the mag far enough that the bolt actually ends up underneath the round, and it is only on that round. I can have all 4 loaded or just two. but it is always the 2nd position round (or the 3rd one loaded from the mag if mag is full with 4 rounds)

Any suggestions? thanks in advance for your help.

Is this happening with handloads or factory loads? This is a centerfeed rifle (magazine is attached to the stock)? You may have to do a slight bend to the mag feed lips. If all else fails, you may have to return it to Savage for warranty repair.

factory loads, Rem core-lokt. And yes it is a center feed mag. I though about bending the lips out too.
