    Bent recoil lug


    Ok i just got a savage 116 in 300 rum and took it apart to look at it and it looke like th recoil lug is bent i real can lay a flat edge on it the way it sit but it just looks bent. Have any of yall seen someithing like this befor.

    Yep. Thats fairly common with the stamped metal lugs.

    does this put some kind of danger or will I be alright util i decide to rebarel or get a recoil lug in

    No danger but good recoil lugs are inexpensive.

    One does need a good solid sound perch especially on the RUM cartridge. The more the bend the more the action screws get hammered.

    I will take that barrel when you decide to get rid of it.

    Well i have been wanting to build a 7mm stw so that might happen soon especial since I need to change the recoil lug but i am kinda likeing the 300 rum potential

    Personally I am a 30 cal and above kind of guy. One would have to offer me two 7mm barrel blanks for a 30 and I would probably refuse to trade.

    I will have a 300 RUM barrel for my Striker shortly.
