    Accutrigger reset

Well, I just got my Target Action back from SSS, timed and trued, Got the new barrel attached, put a stock on it and find the thing does not cock when the bolt is lifted. It seems that the part on the right is sticky and does not come up and recock. Maybe the spring to reset the thing is weak?? Anyone had this problem and maybe a cure.

Is it rubbing on the stock? Pull it out of the stock and see if it cocks.

No, not the stock. My smith thinks it needs a new spring.

Maybe you should discuss this privately with Sharpshooter. Since he worked on your rifle, he may be able to shed some light on this issue.

You may need to make a clearence cut in the trigger guard to alow the trigger sear to move, It os a simple operation, and only takea 15 sec with a dremal.
Trust me the spring is fine.

Thomae, you are right. I have an e-mail to SSS to see if they can shed some light. I am sure it is a small thing, probably a 15 sec thing to fix.
I just wondered if anyone else had run into this problem.

Does the trigger work appropriately when the stock is removed?

No, it is the same either way. I am thinking something may be bent a little. I will check against my other target action.

Any chance you could post an annotated photo or two on the forum?

It is probably being overridden by the trigger return spring. Remove the sear return spring and spread the legs out slightly more. They should be about 120 degrees apart. I replace the sear return springs with lighter ones to reduce sear drag. You only need enough tension to reset the sear.

Thanks Fred for the advise. It is appreciated. And by the way, I in no way meant to impute your work but rather think somehow the barreled action got the trigger bumped along the way.
Stuff happens. Again thanks for all the help.
