    500 S&W on M10?

Has anyone ever tried building a 500 S&W on a Savage SA? Would have to open up a magnum bolt head to ~.556". I am just wondering as I love my little handi rifle in 500.

50 Beowulf might be a better choice based on cartridge head size....unless you build some type of wildcat based on the WSSM or something like that.

I'm in the process of building a .510 caliber wildcat based on the WSM/RUM case that would do what you're talking about and then some.

Sounds interesting. Only reason I ask about the 500 S&W is cause I have everything to load for it.

The 500 S&W is a beast. Makes 44 Mag look like a chump....look at these pics from last weekend. NEF Handirifle in .500 S&W:

    On the left is a 44 Mag - the right is a .50 S&W.

    Here's an AR500 1/4" steel target...

Look how much it bent the target - this is from 75 yards - WTF?!?!?! This is a crazy round!

I know it's a beast. Last hunting season I took a small buck and a bobcat with it. I load my own ammo using 350 gr HP-XTP Mags and Hodgdon LilGun.

For it to bend AR plate like that you know it's going to mess up anything in its paths.
