    Mark II BSEV question

Has anyone shot longs or shorts thru this gun? I know it will shoot them, I am wondering if it will cycle them.. Thanks in advance.

Hello again. What I read on other forums is that the reason Savage indicates 22lr on the barrel of the MkII is that if you shoot the shorter rounds you end up damaging the throat of the barrel (I may have the term wrong). It should work, but at the price of 22lr amo, why risk harming the accuracy of the rifle. As I wrote in my other e-mail to you, the gun is a tack driver. Put some lock-tite on the screws that hold the scope mounts, they get loose otherwise. Also, get a decent scope, the rifle deserves it.
