Was the brass shot from these rifles, or was the brass FL sized BEFORE you tried them in these rifles?
If not that is why it is stuck, it was fire formed from another rifle.
See if you can get a cleaning rod to assist you to get them out
Hello all,
I work at a small gun store/outdoor store and we sell Savage. We have had issues with customers purchasing Axis in 22-250 and the bolt not fully closing on a round therefore they can not use it. So instead of having this to deal with, (upset customers) we figured if we had a piece of fired brass we could slide it into the chamber and make sure the bolt will close before it leaves the store. We tried this with two of the new Axis and both pieces of brass are in the chamber, but the bolt is stuck forward and it won't come back. One will close on the brass, the other will not. The issue now is how do we get the piece of brass out of the chamber? Is there something I am missing here? I have a Stevens 200 and I have put an old piece of brass into the rifle to practice dry firing and never had this happen. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am working this weekend and would like to get it resolved then. Thanks a ton,

Unfortunately, it was fired from a different rifle. That is something I knew just somehow managed to overlooked it completely. So that is the reason why it is stuck. How do I get it un-stuck?

If the bolt will rise, I would run a cleaning rod from the muzzle end and GENTLY hammer on the rod
If the bolt will not rise, you will have to dissemble it to remove it
Anyone else have a better suggestion?

The bolt will rise on both. I will try the cleaning rod suggestion, how hard should I go before trying something else? If there are any other suggestions I'm all ears. Thanks again,

Wood dowel works good, too. The case is stuck & the barrel is hardened steel. using a brass or aluminum rod won't hurt it.
Slide it in there & give it a good smack. It'll come out.
Don't forget the traditional swear words..... You may have to make up a new or two.
'Scuse me while I whip this out...!
Frank you for got somethink there.
That was fgw in Fla LOL ;-)
How did it work out 1ShotKing, did you get the brass out??
Didn't try it yet, I've been in school all day. I'll be at work tomorrow morning bright and early I'll let you know how it goes. Thanks again for your help.

Got both of them out. One took a little more persuasion but nothing serious.

I had the same problem with my new Edge in .223, I have another savage in .223, A model 10, So before I got the Edge I went and reloaded 500 hundred rounds
with 55 grain Hornady V - Max, The only problem was I only neck sized the Winchester Brass from the Model 10, I had sold it to a friend because he wanted it for
the heavy target barrel it had on it. I wanted the lighter barreled gun, Easier to carry through the fields after wood chucks. When I went to sight in the Edge with
the rounds fire formed to the Model 10 my bolt would not work either. It had me stumped for a while until I went back through my reloading notes and remembered
I did not full length resize the cases, No way would they work in the Edge, Took apart 500 rounds, Full length resized the cases, reloaded them and now they work
fine. Take Care, Everyone and shoot straight..... Lockwoodjohn
i am sure i am missing something
& my math is not great, but were do you get 50,000 rds
drybean
I think it was from lockwoodjohn wroteWhich is 500 x hundredreloaded 500 hundred rounds
drybean you are right on to question the math,
First time 500 rounds, All new cases, bullets, powder and primers.Shot them all through the model 10, Them reloaded them (neck sized only) Tried to shoot them
through Edge, No go! Took 495 bullets apart along with the 5 I did manage to shoot through the Edge and F/L re-sized them and reloaded them. Now they shoot
through the Edge fine.
lockwoodjohn ( by my math that is 1500 bullets but only using the 500 original cases, The Gentlemen might be using that new Math they teach in places of higher learning like at Cornell U. )
Sorry for the typo I did not even catch it after reading it 3, That is one , two, three times It Was ONLY 500 X 3 different times.
LOL lockwoodjohn
