Either will be fine for 200. You may need/want to go heavier to get to 1k.

The 155's will get you to 1000, but you are really going to have to push them. Most 168's will start to tumble around 8-900. You did not say what make of bullet.

Either one will work fine out to 1000 yards in a 1-12 twist.

Too bad its not a 10 twist.

You can get 2750 with FF win cases and the 208 amax loaded long RL17 with a long barrel.
That will stay supersonic out to 1500 yards.

I think I would try some 175 gr SMKs, bergers or 178 gr amaxes over a case full of allliant power pro 2000LR or maybe RL17.

I worked a 175 gr smk load out of the alliant data on quickload, and if you run it long, like 2.9", in a neck sized fire formed win case
(win brass has the largest volume) you should be able to get close to 2900 fps with a 29" barrel.

That will stay supersonic out to 1200 yards.

I believe if you call the Sierra help line they will tell you the 168MK is a 600yd bullet

Just looking around the berger site, I noticed they rate the 190 VLD for a 12 twist.

You should be able to get 2750 + with that bullet over RL17. With 0.57 BC that will beat the
168 gr ballistics by quite a bit.

My .308 is a Remington, 1:12 twist. Does well with both the 155 Nosler and the 178 A-Max over Varget.

The 155s worked OK out to 1000 yd at Raton, but not sure if they would be OK closer to sea level. As I have a 26" barrel, they are marginal if your run the calculations (http://www.jbmballistics.com/cgi-bin...j_simp-5.1.cgi ).

My buddy's getting very good results with 167 gr Lapua Scenars in his 308 Savage. Give those a try as well.

With a 1 in 10 twist 308, I had good results with the 190 grain SMks pushed by a max load.
