    Question 20 MOA Scope Base

Sorry if this is duplicate I could not find anything on here for info I was looking for. Any difference in quality/value between Weaver,TPS, Talley, and EGW 20 MOA bases for Savage 10 short action? I heard ones with the integrated recoil lug are better but I have no experience with these bases.

Do not want to spend more than $70 on the base. Ones I have been looking at so far.......

I like my weaver! I have the 0 moa version though. It does have the recoil lug.

Just from my experience the Weavers have been sloppy. Never had a problem with EGW.

Had Weavers and EGW...no problem with either using Burris XTR rings, and the Weaver is a bit lower in height.

    Get the EGW HD base

You absolutly WONT regret it. I have one on my Mdl 10 .308 and it is straight and solid. Only had to shim the rear of the base the thickness of piece a Pepsi can to level it. But this would happen with any one piece as the receiver was machined slightly off. No problem with mounting after the shim is in there as I punched holes in it for the screws to hold it in place even better. You can always epoxy bed it to the stock. But this is much easier and just as effective IF the "gap" is equal to the thickness of the piece of alluminum.

    GOOD LUCK!
