Blind magazine well to big on after market stock. what to do??

    Hey,

I need a little help. I am new to this gun building and I love it.

First mistake was that I purchased a Richards Micro Fit stock.....I know, I was warned!!! I really liked the style and look. It is defineltey going to take some sanding but not horrible. The wood looks good, it is a Wildcat Thumbhole Sporter in Royal Camo.

I have a savage short action and a criterion barrel in the 6.5 creedmoor. I got the stock yesterday and was making sure everything fit. Trigger guard is good.

Some sanding needed on the action area, but not bad. Then I noticed the hole was not drilled all the way through for the front action screw. HMMMM? It is started from the inside of the stock but only goes about 1/4 inch into the wood. Thats ok, I have a drill....

Now, the real problem. I grabbed the blind mag and follower with the L clip and and dropped it in and there is about 1/2 inch to much wood missing..There is no way to make it tight ......Almost like a long mag might fit.

Any ideas on what to do??

    THANKS in advance!

    updated with photos

Here are a few photos....looks like about 1/8th of an inch of play in the mag well.
The second photo shows the stock after it had just been wiped down with mineral spirits. Lots of small tooling marks, but sanding should cure that.

    Any other ideas besides epoxy.

shim it with paint stir sticks and epoxy it in

or send it back and get this stock from stockys

its a great stock and in stead of having to add i had to remove a little from the mag well

Three choices; 1-send it back, 2-shim it glue in the shims with epoxie(easy fix) 3- bed it in place throw away the Lclip and be done with it(little more difficult but will be the best alternative).Just remember that it will take forever to get another custom stock but if you screw up what you have you own it.
