Show your tactical/precision rifle/snipery/truck axle Savage!

CAPTBEACH asked for a dedicated forum, so I figure the least we can do is consolidate these types of builds into a "lookie here!" thread.

    Here are mine:

    Savage 110 action
    Savage 12FV 26" 1:9 223 Remington takeoff barrel (CBI 22" 1:7 light varmint 223AI barrel on order)
McMillan A5 stock with CDI LA/308 mag DBM
EGW 20MOA rail, Burris XTR low rings
    Vortex Viper HS 5-15x44

    Savage 10FP action
Criterion 26" 1:9 varmint contour 260 Remington barrel
McMillan A5 stock with CDI DBM
EGW 25MOA rail, Burris XTR low rings
Bushnell Elite 4200 Tactical 6-24x50 FFP

    Savage FV-SR
Boyd Tacticool with DIP metal & krylon
EGW 0 MOA rail, Burris Signature Zee rings with 20MOA inserts
    Weaver GS Tactical 3-10x40

Very nice setups on all three. Here's mine:

Bone stock 12 LRP action and stock
    EGW 0 MOA base
Sightron SIII 6-24x50, Burris XTR rings
    Harris bipod

I've stretched it out to 700 yards. In more capable hands than mine and as it breaks in, I suspect the gun is capable of .35 MOA. Currently my best group is a .505" at 100 but I'm learning. In fact, that's why I bought this rifle! :-)

Updated my M10 precision carbine to a MDT XRS chassis. Scope is a Bushnell Tactical LRS 6-24x50. Using Pmag 10 round magazines.

Oh and for the record - I would never ever use the word 'tactical' when describing my LRP. The thing is so freaking heavy you'd have to be Rambo just to carry it in the field. It's a bench rest gun used for long range precision shots. That's it, that's all.

Okay if it's a Savage Tactical Precision Rifle with the Indian Head then I have three Tacticals to post pictures of: (all the same a .204 Ruger in the Savage 25 and a Vortex Scope).

I like to use the lightest caliber to accomplish the task of varminting and that usually means the .22 WMR. On occasion I'd use the .22 Hornet feeling it was over powerful and loud and unnecessary. The .223 is not as good as a .22-250 Savage so since a .20 caliber makes since to an air rifle shooter like me I went for it.

It is accurate and flat shooting. It is loud. It is better than a .220 Swift but not a .22-250 Savage like this one I have for the Savage Varminter caliber: oops. It's a Browning X Bolt with the same kind of ventilating laminated stock as the Savage 25 .204. Thumbhole with green laminate and limited production. Wouldn't you know it?

    This .204 is amazing.
