    Savage 111 LA stock options

I have a 111FCXP3 30/06 that I picked up about 5-7 years ago. Bought it as a cheap deer gun and didn't really do anything with it. Now I have decided to build a tacticool tack driver. It will eventually get a 26-28 heavy barrel(Criterion/McGowen)

Is it just me or is there really so few stock options for this rifle. Looks like I need a Long action, center feed, with detachable box magazine....? I hunted through the pic threads and it looks like all the long action rifles are still wearing their tupperware stock. It appears there is a nice laminate thumbhole option, but that is something I'm not really looking for. Choate has a tactical stock, but I think it is for the blind mag. I'm almost to the point to where I'm just going to chuck this thing back in the closet and buy a short action .308 and build that or pick up a Rem 700.

So all in all, what stock options do I have...?

    Thanks for the help,
    Brad

Hogue finally has their stocks out and they make models for the detachable magazine/hinged floorplate models.

I put a Hogue on my .338-06, DBM Model 111. Great stock, awesome CNC work on the block.

The only names you need to consider are McMillan and Rick Bin.

With more knowledge than I may be able to verify this. But you can with the right hardware, swap it over to dbm if you wanted to correct? I have read of people swapping the other way around.

Stockade and Choate both make models w/full bedding blocks for LA. Good prices too.

I am in the same market. The options I have considered are modifying a synthetic or laminated stock using a file and fillers with some bed liner as a black grip coating. Have one of the choate stocks inleted for the DBM or go the $$$ route. Bet you can guess the direction I am leaning. Let us know where you end up.

Well... I have it pretty much narrowed down to either.... See if stockadestocks can inlet their Prairie Dog/Tactical for the DBM. If they cannot I'm going to convert it over to a blind mag prolly get that stock anyways..
