    RCBS 308 Winchester X-Die

What is the main advantage of using an "X" die vs a standard 308 Die?

The RCBS X die is designed so as the case is resized, the brass can't move like it would in a regular full length die. Got them in .223 nd .308 (for sale) but I'am so stuck in my "old" ways that I keep full length resizing. I guess once you get them set, they work like they're suppose to. I just never gave them a real chance.

Nor Cal, good info, I didn't understand the difference between the two! Sounds like the standard dies are the one to get!

I guess it all depends on what you get use to? If you don't want to deal with trimmimg brass all the time, seems like the X dies would be the way to go. Once they're set up the correct way, they do the job. Like I said, I just never gave them a chance. I just didn't want to go through the trouble of trimming the first time to start the process. After you trim all the brass to length, it's suppose to be easy from then on. I would say, try them and see for yourself. You'de be the only one to know if you like them or not. Change is good if you're not too old. ;D

I use them in .30/06 for my M1 Garand and .223 for my M4. After the initial trimming, no more trimming is needed. They work, but trimming a ton of brass cn be a pain! ;D

Going with the regular dies, Thanks everyone, I might try the X dies when I have more experience.

Sounds like a good way to start.
