Need some help with Axis recoil lug

I am working on a new Axis stock and found the recoil lug is thicker than the Edge is. The Axis I am working on is .192 and my Edge is .186. Can you measure the thickness of your recoil lug and post the model and thickness. I am going to make a lug, Savage only sells the lug with the stock and a standard shank lug for a model 110 from Gun Shack is approx .245. Need help.

    Thanks

I gotta Edge built in 7/11. Caliber is 25.06 Rem.

The slot in the reciever is .190" (+ or -.... it varies from end to end)

The lug in the stock is .188"

I hope that info is what you're after.

    Thanks for the info Frank.
I was going to order a .1875 thk flat ground O1 bar to make the lug till I measured the lugs. What a pain if you want a stock with a lug and the factory stock with its lug.

I see your 25-06 is looking good. I am glad you are buying the .243 barrel, IT was haunting me as I looked for a 308 win or 22-250 barrel.

I'm looking forward to changing one of my calibers to a fat .243. If the accuracy & consistancy is anything like the 25, I'm really looking forward to it.
Good luck with your project. I have my Edge apart on the bench for a little cleaning & adjustments. If you need anything else, I'll check back again from time to time this afternoon.
Rainy afternoon. Perfect day to touch up the 'ol Edge.

    Thanks again.
Frank, I need to tease you, I am keeping-a-eye on this for a Axis stock not your Carpathian curly maple but its maple.

Nap time. Rainy days & naps are what make middle age ----> approaching OLD age worth while.

    Bob,
I did the same. They want a lug for the new stock. Question? do you have customer ask for a recoil lug on your stocks?

Kind of a dumb question I guess: Why don't you just use the original lug? Mine pops right out of the stock on my axis when I take it apart.
