Built one just like it last week. Same barrel, same stock etc. With 175 SMK's and IMR4064 it gives outstanding accuracy.
Got this e-mail today http://www.gunsamerica.com/blog/sava...ew-gun-review/ any thoughts

Well, my first thought is the author is a complete idiot thinking the "SR" in the name means Sniper Ready. Second, it's blatantly obvious this genius is trying to cater to the "Tacticool" crowd with all his sniper speak, but all he manages to accomplish is to prove that he's yet another Tacti-Fool. For example, look at his caption under the photo showing the threaded muzzle (SR = silencer ready BTW)...
Now who in their right mind is going to be shooting squirrels with a flippin .308? Not only is it extreme overkill, but you would also be making it 10x more expensive considering 22LR, 22 WMR and 17HMR are all perfectly acceptable and adequate rounds for squirrels, and if you want to really extend your range you go to a .223 which is still less than half the cost of shooting a .308 these days. The slightly recessed crown of the barrel is pre-threaded for a suppressor so you don’t wake up the neighbors shooting squirrels after dark.
As for the rifle itself, it's a Savage...what's not to like?

I run a forum - someone please shoot me and put me out of my misery already
i just picked one up last week.
haven't had the chance to shoot it yet - the weather here is less than permitting at the moment...
it is a outstanding rifle. good buy. only thing i would consider that since it is a mag feed might not be able to load to lands of rifling
Also if the price of the magazine is irking you from savage OEM ($126), it uses the standard AICS style magazines. Ruger sells them as magazines for their Scout AI rifles for about $60.
Just got my Liberty Freedom Mag can (300wm rated) today. It's nice shooting without hearing protection. Waited 9 months for all the paper work.
Nice rifle! How quiet does that can make the rifle?
I guess Im too girly, I even use hear protection when shooting 22lr...
