Model 16 WSM Broken firing pin ...

    Any suggestions?

I have a Savage model 16 WSM with what seems to be a broken firing pin. Once I figure out how to get the bolt apart I will know what part I am after.

Where do I get internal bolt parts? (this one has the standing ejector)

It pierced a couple of primers and then stopped firing. The spring loaded cam over / rotating piece inside the bolt stops about half way down its travel and the firing pin does not come out.

Loads may have been a bit warm ...

    Loving the Norma 270WSM brass.

    What do you think?

Hmmm, false alarm. I took the bolt apart and the internal pieces are fine. Working now after putting it back together.

Anyone know how the internals of the bolt lock up?

If you blanked a few primers, the slug from the primer got caught up in the bolt head. That's why it stopped short.
