    Savage 111 in 30-06

I just picked up a savage 111 in 30-06 (111FCXP3 30/06) that is missing a front action mounting bolt, what size is it and where to buy it?
    Thank you.

Boyds or midway sells the action screws you need. They are cheap enough to buy both lengths and use what you need then save the others for another time.

Why would there be stocks on a link to a supplier of screws(front action bolt) that you asked about. If you want a link to stocks maybe you could start a new post and I would provide you with links to a supplier of stocks.

I think there might be a misunderstanding.

Just guessing here...OP is a new poster, perhaps a newbie to the world of Savage was told that appropriate bolt length depended on the stock, I took his response to be a question about what were the different stocks that required different action screws so that he could get the right length action screw.

He could have been asking what stocks MacMaster Carr sells, but I think not.

vczar1: Please try to clarify your question. It will also help you get a better answer.

Generally wood stocks need slightly longer action screws than factory plastic/composite ones. Best bet IMHO is to get a longer action screw and cut/file/grind it down until it is the right length for you.

Your local hardware should have the 1/4x28 in various lengths.
