Soluton to loud tumbler

I don't know about you but the noise level of my tumbler is so loud, it resonates through out the whole house and is just unbearable, so by putting it in one of these and running it the noise level is reduced so much, that I can run it at the same time in the same room as I reload, in fact I had two of them so stacked them together and reduced the noise even more. there like five bucks each at wally's or target. http://www.uline.com/BL_1912/Storage...storage%20bins

I used to have my tumbler on my workbench but it drove me crazy also. When i finished my basement this past year half of it is my gun shop/reloading area/man cave and the other half is my wife scrapbooking area. What i did was move my tumbler waaaaay on the other side under my wifes workstation lol... works for me but shes not a fan!

just put on the floor (concrete) with some kind of foam underlayment for vibration? it is loud as in vibration radiating? or noisy?

I just put a cardboard box over mine in the basement and a towel over that...cuts it by 50% or more and not a problem w/heat in 30 yrs of doing it that way.

The motors have an "internal" fan so be real carefull about getting it overheated. Set the unit on a piece of carpet. That will cut down on some of the noise. Mine is outside in the shed so I have to go outside and listen real close to be sure it's running.

Yeah....#1-put a piece of carpet under it. #2, take a cardboard box, glue some styrofoam on the inside of it. Leave the top open so air will flow, and leave (or cut) some large notches on the bottom for air flow. #3, And finally, get a timer and set your timer for an hour....then turn your tumbler on when you leave and not only is it quieter, but your not even around to notice what a good job you did!!! (If a brass tumbler makes no noise....is there anyone around to hear it?) Wha????

I put mine on top of a couple phone books or Midway catalogues. It helped a little, but like Dave, I left for a while.

I put mine on the floor next to my feet and then ignore it. Seriously, how loud is your tumbler?? Maybe you should think about replacing it. My Lyman tumbler has never once bothered me.

As we get older, the things we can still hear get louder, like the frog out side my window tonight! Both my large tumblers with heavy loads are noisy.
