Should work. Hope its a heavy contour with a brake. I hear that 338Edge can recoil a bit.

If it's not a 26" barrel I would't waste money on rechamber. Thats a lot of powder to burn in short tube. And from what I've read the EDGE only out paces the 338 RUM when in 30" barrels anyway. I don't know how far you plan on carring the rifle for but long heavy barreled rifles get heavy fast carring them. I'd just buy a new barrel 26" and put a good brake on it in say 338rum. With 26"would give you performance to a grand witthout the extras $ in dies, brass forming and extra powder. But the Edge sure has the cool factor. . I have a 338Wm and shoot out to 600 and do fine. but if I had a 1000 plus rang close by I would probably move up to the 338rum as my skill increased.Just some of my thoughts.

I have a reamer for the 338 edge and I punched out my 338 win mag, like Gene stated complete powder burns are a bit touchy but it does work ok with lighter bullets and lil faster powders. My 338 win mag was good to 400 or so and now I feel good about taking shots out past 600-800 yrds. Here in Pennsylvania its hard to find long distance shots on whitetails. So basically I ended up with a nice medium to long range deer setup and can still load heavy for black bear hunting also...
