    Stevens 200 build

Here is the Stevens 200 I built after a few years of trying to get the parts together. A good friend gave me the action after he decided he didn't have time to build it. I decided I wanted to go with a 6br rifle. I picked up a used McGowen 8 twist barrel. I also used a Bobby Hart long range target stock I picked up from Stockys and it has a Rifle Basix Savage 2 trigger installed. I have the trigger set at 1 pound. I just finished the bedding job Sunday night. So today was the first trip to the range with her. I threw together some Hornady 75gr V-Max bullets with varget and br4 primers just to see how it shoots. So the groups below are without any load development at all. Here is a pic of the rifle and the first 9 shots out of it.

Stevens 200 Blind to Hinged Floor Plate conversion

I picked up a Savage Stevens 200 in 243, and I'm looking to convert the blind magazine and to a hinged floor plate. Do I need any additional parts beyond the internal box and follower to put it into a Hogue overmolded stock? I went out to Sharp Shooter's Supply and their parts package looks like it has some of the parts I already have.

I put a Rifle Basix SAV-2 on it and all that is left for my budget build is the stock. Any input you have would be most welcome. Thanks.

If your looking for cost effective in stocks, look at Boyds. 3 different styles in laminate or walnut. Laminate under $100 and Walnut under $120. Finshed and drop ins. I have used one on a Savage and several others on other makes. I am a happy camper.
