    questions on Timing a brake

I bought one of the Numrich Savage 300wm threaded barrels
& a brake from Ross Schuler
I proceeded to remove metal a little at a time from the brake reinstalling & measuring progress
-reinstalling & measuring progress - reinstalling & measuring progress -reinstalling & measuring progress

the last little bit was just a little bit to much................now what ?????
so now I'm faced with the choice of going around another complete revolotion or make a shim
so I made a ship from a diet coke can....... whats the chances of exact thickness for needed timing ?
    it lined up perfect ........
so now my question is how will aluminum & Stainless do together in this application
I worked as a auto tech for 30+ years & know aluminum blocks & steel bolts equal white rust that is exstremely hard to deal with
I see no need to remove brake untill barrell is shot out - then I could sacrifice the barrel if need be to remove
as long as there isnt something I dont know about this paticular application
thats why Im asking the pros & barrel nuts
If your lucky enough to live in the BIG woods your lucky enough

    I'd go another complete revolution.
More professional and no galvanic corrosion issue.

Most of the crush or peel washers I have seen are steel.

I got stainless ring shims in different thicknesses from McMaster Carr. They're stainless and hardly noticeable after Duracoat is applied. Just my $.02.

If you have a ace hardware in your area i would go there and look for aluminum washers in the heilman section, (nuts and bolts). If there isn't any there you can get the name and number of the heilman rep from the manager, if it's made heilman will have or know where to look. blue
