    25-06 ammo

I have a Savage 25-06 but can't find cartridges with bullets smaller than 85 grains. Are there any factory loads in the 50-70 grain range? I want them for coyote hunting and don't want to destroy the hides. A smaller bullet should also track better in a 12 twist.

HI 85gr that's lightest bullet you will find in factory ammo, I use Sierra 70gr blitz kings when I load mated to 62gr of RL17 gives me 4000+ fps out of my 26" 12 twist Mcgowan, bullets and ammo choices are dismal for 25 cal, and that's my favorate caliber, I am allways torn between my 25-06 and my 257 Weatherby when I have to chose, If I told you how fast I send those 70 blitz kings out of my 257 WBY, I would be called a liar so all I will say it gives my 220 swift a good run for it's money.

Rick RL17 is 100 FPS faster than H4350 with the same amount of powder.

For DEAN, again. Would you mind terribly if we could communicate via email. I'd really like to pick your barin a bit, if you don't mind. If that's agreeable, just add an "@yahoo.com" to my name. I appreciate the consideration very much. Thanks again.

The lightest bullet that I know of for a 25-06 in factory ammo is a 75gr. bullet. I haven't seen factory stuff with light bullets in quite a while. However if you DO NOT want to destroy hides, DO NOT use them!! They are a brutal destroyer.

As to the Twist..... Savage hasn't made a 12-twist in a factory gun that I'm aware of....
I'm a firm believer in the theory that if it bleeds, I can kill it.
